Phenomenon ll

Phenomenology ll considers what it means to experience the world through a Black body. The figure’s skin is built through dense layers of material, making the body feel simultaneously present, fragmented, and difficult to fully access. Rather than treating skin as a single color, it becomes an accumulation of marks, histories, encounters, and pressures. The brick wall and iron fence introduce boundaries that determine how the body moves through space and how it is perceived within it. The figure looks outward, aware of both the environment and the gaze directed toward them. The torn surface interrupts the image, suggesting that identity cannot be contained by representation alone. Phenomenology is ultimately concerned with the distance between being a body and being read as one.
